Food is my love language

Hi, I'm Kelsey Ryder — the pastry chef and cake designer behind Love More Sweets. Food, especially sweets, has always been part of my life. After graduating from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City and interning alongside competition-winning cake artist Kate Sullivan of Cake Power, I brought that training home to Omaha.

I never thought of myself as an artist before — but when it comes to designing cakes, it just clicks. With me as your cake designer, you get Midwest charm and dedication alongside the beauty, elegance, and modern influence of NYC. Now I literally get to play with food for a living, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Words from our brides

"

Kelsey was one of the easiest people to work with. I started with a small vision and she helped expand that — she made our cake into something breathtaking, especially with the sugar flowers. Our guests kept asking if the flowers were real. Beyond the looks, the taste was even better. The lemon is the best tasting lemon cake I've ever had.

"

Kelsey introduced us to what an actual cake tastes like — I felt like I was lied to my entire life after trying hers. She is an incredible artist, an incredible baker, and incredibly kind and sweet. You can trust someone right off the bat with her.

"

A masterpiece in design but also absolutely delicious. The level of detail was astounding — every aspect was meticulously crafted. She was professional, attentive, and took every request into account. It became the centerpiece of the celebration and left everyone in awe.

The Signature

Every petal, sculpted by hand

Each bloom is shaped, veined, and tinted from sugar paste over hours of quiet work — a craft Kelsey trained in New York and carried home to Omaha. No two petals are alike, and none are purchased. They are the signature that makes every Love More Sweets cake unmistakably its own.
